Touch & Talk

Looking at craft pieces, you may wonder what they are made of, or how they are made. You may also want to touch them. To meet such requests, Touch & Talk programs are given at the Crafts Gallery by twenty-seven volunteer guides. Since pieces and topics in focus vary each time offered, you can enjoy participation any number of times. We look forward to your joining us.

Two Features of Touch & Talk

Let’s Feel It section
Touch and feel works and materials by prominent craftspeople, including tools used by living national treasures and rare materials documenting the production processes. Enjoy the charm of texture and techniques that cannot be felt while crafts pieces are shown in glass cases.
Gallery Talk
Centering on recommendable pieces, a gallery guide introduces things to note in the gallery and interesting stories. Visitors often get excited talking about artists' profiles and historical backgrounds that cannot be known when only looking at the pieces.
