Educational Activities

NFC holds talk events, lectures and symposiums in accordance with screening programs.  Talk events are also held with temporary exhibitions.  On the permanent exhibition, the curators give a commentary or a lecture once a month to facilitate deeper understanding.  Children up to junior high school students enjoy our event “Kodomo Eiga-kan (Kids’ Cinema)” every summer, when they can feel wonders and joy of films with benshi s’ performances and the curators’ lectures. As the only national institution of films in Japan, NFC provides students including graduate students with both educational and training opportunities, such as university classes using our collection, curator training programs and internships.
