Founding of National Film Archive of Japan in April, 2018
National Film Center of The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, is to become the National Film Archive of Japan, the sixth member of the Independent Administrative Institution National Museum of Art, in April, 2018.
As the national institution promoting film culture on equal terms with other national art museums, we are moving on to more intensive film archive activities, namely collection, preservation, screenings and exhibitions, with the motto “Preserving Is Showing”.
