During the late 19th- and early 20th-century, Europe saw the rise of Art Nouveau followed by another artistic style known as Art D\u00e9co. Beginning with his elegantly curved jewelry, Lalique created countless works that reflected the times, including vases, perfume bottles,and car mascots, which made the most of transparent glass and vivid colors.<br>Drawn primarily from the Iuchi Collection(deposited at the National Crafts Museum), this exhibition presents pieces by some of Lalique\u2019s precursors, such as \u00c9mile Gall\u00e9 (1849-1904) and the Daum Fr\u00e8res (Auguste,1853-1909; and Antonin, 1864-1930) along with craft and design works of the same era. In addition to Lalique\u2019s jewelry and glass art, the exhibition includes exquisite glass works by Gall\u00e9 and the Daums, and furniture and posters from the era to convey the atmosphere of this glorious time through a collection of epoch-defining pieces.
