Having relocated from Tokyo to history- and culture-rich Kanazawa in 2020 and reopened as the National Crafts Museum, we strive to promote culture as a national institution specializing in modern and contemporary crafts and design, while remaining deeply rooted in the local community and collaborating with Ishikawa Prefecture, Kanazawa City, and neighboring cultural institutions.
We offer visitors the opportunity to experience two buildings designated as Registered Tangible Cultural Properties that evoke the atmosphere of the Meiji period (1868\u20131912), as well as the time and space to fully appreciate Japan\u2019s traditional craft techniques and captivating works. You may even make new discoveries through your encounters with them.
With the renowned Kenroku-en Garden nearby, the surrounding environment is also wonderful. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you to our museum.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
