Crafts are the basis for the Japanese style of formative arts. I would like to explore this field where Japan excels with students who will soon head out into the world. But how to introduce them to crafts? There is so much terminology and preparation feels difficult \u2026
If this sounds familiar, please consider our Online Craft Talks. The National Crafts Museum has worked with children for more than 20 years. We will visit your school via the video screen to introduce students to crafts in a way that is both profound and enjoyable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This field is perfect for cross-curricular and investigative learning. In addition to lessons before and after museum visits, we can use the program to develop local studies on the theme of crafts. Focusing on independent and interactive learning and collaborative studies, let\u2019s consider together perspectives that are suited to the children\u2019s developmental stage. The program is also recommended for teacher training.

Teacher training to enhance appreciation education using art museums.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Organizer: Independent Administrative Institution National Museum of Art<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once a year, elementary, junior high, senior high school teachers, museum curators, and school supervisors from all over Japan meet to discuss the research on using art museums to enhance appreciation education. The purpose of the program is to develop human resources to implement appreciation education and educational outreach projects in all regions, and to revitalize regional cooperation between schools and museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
