In the past, we have presented exhibits titled <em>Special Feature: Thinking about Tohoku<\/em> (in May 2011), and <em>Special Feature: Thinking about Tohoku II: Memory, Rebirth, Art<\/em> (in January 2012). In this third edition, we consider how artists reacted and how they made contact with the stricken area following the earthquake, tsunami, and Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Accident. Moreover, we consider how they dealt with the various problems that arose as a result of these events. The works in this section, both acquired by the museum in 2013, are by Chim\u2191Pom and Fujii Hikaru. Aspects of Tohoku that could not be presented in the media or that would be difficult to actually experience emerge out of the artists\u2019 particular approaches. We have also borrowed Miyamoto Ryuji\u2019s video work <em>3.11 TSUNAMI 2011<\/em> and are showing it in Room 12, across from the elevator hall.
