Hours and Access
10:00–17:00 (Fridays and Saturdays open until 20:00)
*Admission until 30 minutes before closing.
We are closed on Mondays (open on holiday Mondays and close on the following days);
during installation periods; and New Year holidays. For irregular openings and closings, please check the exhibition schedule and news.

There is no parking lot at the museum.
Please use one of these paid parking lots in the vicinity.

Exhibitions
Admission differs between the collection exhibition and special exhibitions.

* Free for high school students, under 18, seniors over 65, Campus Members, those with MOMAT Passport, MOMAT Members, and MOMAT Supporters. Persons with disability and one person accompanying each of them are admitted free of charge.

[Special Exhibitions]
Admission varies from exhibition to exhibition. Please check exhibition webpages.
There is free admission to the MOMAT Collection exhibition on International Museum Day (May 18) and on Culture Day (November 3). (Except when either day falls on a museum closing day.)
Photography
Still photography is permitted in the collection galleries only.
No flash or tripods allowed. Works marked with a “no photography” sign may not be photographed for copyright protection. Please carefully read the precautions posted in the elevator hall on the fourth floor before photographing. Most borrowed works shown in the special exhibition galleries may not be photographed because of provisions in the loan agreement. Making notes is permitted in the galleries (pencil only, pencils for loan available).
Concerning the photographs you took in the museum, please note:
- Commercial use is not permitted.
- Modifications are not permitted.
- Use of your photographs showing exhibits may constitute violation of copyright laws.
Use of the images of art works posted on this website is not permitted. Please see the Reproduction page about the loan of images of art works in our collection.
Services
In order to protect the artworks, eating and drinking inside the museum is not permitted. We ask visitors to hydrate in the shaded rest areas outside the museum where vending machines have been installed.

You may use these facilities without visiting the exhibitions and you will not be charged admission.
Please check the opening hours on the webpages for the shop, the restaurant, and the library.
There are no restrictions on infants entering the museum.
However, if young children are creating a nuisance for other visitors, we may ask you to temporarily step out of the exhibition gallery. (Re-entry is permitted by asking the attendant.) Please note that for reasons of safety we may ask you not to use a baby carriage if the museum building is crowded.
There are no cribs, but there are diaper changing stations in the multi-purpose toilets (1F, 2F).
There are no facilities for nursing mothers or day care, but if you have a problem, please feel free to speak to an attendant.
Baby carriages and wheelchairs are available to loan.
