Embarking on a Trip around the World at the Crafts Museum: Focus on Foreign Crafts and Design

Date

Location

National Crafts Museum

About

The National Crafts Museum presents a variety of exhibitions, which include not only Japanese crafts but also works from the museum collection by foreign artisans and designers. The collection contains approximately 180 craft from other countries and roughly 300 design works.

In this exhibition, we focus on works by foreign artists from the museum’s holdings that have rarely been displayed in the past. This will also provide us with an opportunity to consider how crafts and design are related to the history and climate of the places from which they emerge. Why not join us on this trip around the world via crafts and design at this point in time when it is so hard to move around freely?
